Monday, May 04, 2026
The winner of the April 29, 2026, Powerball drawing has come forward to claim their prize. The $143.4 million jackpot had a cash option of $65.2 million, which was split with a winner in Indiana. This equates to a $32.6 million prize for the Kansas winner before taxes.
The winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, came in to collect their prize on Friday and said they plan to invest and save the bulk of their prize for their family’s future. However, they do plan to splurge on a new vehicle and possibly a family vacation!
The jackpot winning ticket was sold at Dillons 57 on 200 Greenway Street in Derby. The retailer is eligible for a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
It was a huge night for Powerball across the state, as six different tickets also matched five numbers, but not the Powerball, to win $1 million. One of those winners had also purchased the Power Play multiplier, which doubled their win to $2 million.
The five $1 million tickets remain unclaimed, but the $2 million Powerball winner has come forward to claim their prize! The winner chose to remain anonymous and shared that they had almost forgotten to purchase a ticket for the drawing that night, buying one just before the sales cutoff.
The $2 million winning ticket was sold at the All Star Prescott in Prescott. The retailer is eligible for a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. Players have 365 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
